The successful applicants can receive funding, access to experts within the RehabHRC or both depending on the identified need. We can provide insight into the MedTech industry and experience bringing ideas to market. We have a range of skills and experience which will also support the successful applicants in their wider education, career and life goals.
Rehabilitation technologies aim to help people recover from injury or illness, regain independence and improve their quality of life. There are many different types of technologies, but some examples are mobile apps, mobility aids, robotic devices, and wearable sensors. Rehabilitation technologies are used by therapists, doctors, and patients to make rehabilitation more effective, engaging, and personalised. While technologies are advancing, they are not always well adopted. Part of the reason for this is a lack of awareness about technologies or a lack of understanding about how to use them. We need to better understand the education and training needs of rehabilitation staff, patients, and technology developers so that people can use and create technologies that work for everyone.
We are therefore exploring education and training needs relating to rehabilitation technologies.
