Engaging and involving patients and the public is at the heart of how we work. It’s woven into our structure.

We work with Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) teams from Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, community and patient groups, charities and primary care teams in our region, so we include the whole NHS and social care perspective in our engagement work.

The Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Operational Group (POG), chaired by the PPIE Manager (POG) coordinates all aspects of PPIE activity across RehabHRC, receives reports from the clinical theme PPIE leads and supports industry and selection panels to ensure a diverse patient voice.

We have PPI representation in traumatic injury, work, stroke, multiple sclerosis and for the National Rehabilitation Centre. We explore methods for equitable and accessible person-centred rehabilitation technology.

We advocate inclusive participatory approaches to fully engage patients, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders in technology development and deployment.

We welcome patients, interested citizens, carers, friends and family members of anyone on a rehabilitation journey to be involved in our work. Please let us know if you would like to support us and contribute your voice to this exciting project.
